​After hibernating and hunkering in all winter, give your mind, body and soul a hearty Spring clean! You'll savour a couple of well-deserved days to relax, reawaken and rejuvenate with healthy fresh-made meals, yoga and fitness classes, and time to connect with nature. Only a quick jaunt from Toronto, enjoy this charming, beautiful and fresh Muskokan Resort escape. Ideal for singles, couples, parents and older children (18+), friends - anyone who needs a healthy Spring spark!

Itinerary

Friday April 12th
3:00pm: Cabins and retreat available for arrival 
Take a canoe out for a row, go to  town, take a walk, soak in a hot- tub OR nap in your cabin!?
5:00pm: Orientation & Restorative Yoga
6:30pm: Communal Spring Meal
8:00pm: Bonfire on the beach

Saturday April 13th
7:00am:    Guided meditation (optional)
7:30am:    Morning Yoga Flow (75 mins) 
                   for all levels
9:00am:    Breakfast
11:00am:  Muscle Awakening Class (60 mins)
                  Feel good conditioning for all levels
1:00pm:    Lunch
                  *Afternoon open for whatever you want to do!
                  *You can also book a massage with their RMT if      you wish (in advance)
                  *Enjoy the outdoors: canoes, kayaks, hiking trails, hot tub... or nap :)
5:00pm:    Restorative Yoga (75 mins)
6:30pm:    Communal Dinner
8:00pm:    More bonfire goodness, maybe an evening toast, maybe some marshmallows?

Sunday April 14th
7:00am:    Guided meditation (optional)
7:30am:    Morning Yoga Flow (75 mins)
                    for all levels
9:00am:    Breakfast
11:00am:  Class of choice: Dance Fit, Yogalates... we will choose! 
1:00pm:    Lunch

C) Group (3+ people) in a Private Cottage ($509 + HST pp)
D) Shared or Semi-Private ( 2 people) in a Private Cottage with a Jacuzzi Tub ($539 + HST pp)
E) Private (1 person) in a Multi-Bedroom Cottage, with a Shared Bathroom ($539 + HST)
F) Private (1 person) in a Multi-Bedroom Cottage, with a Private Bathroom** ($609 + HST)
G) Private (1 person) in a Private Cottage with a Jacuzzi Tub ($659 + HST)


** Most private bathrooms have jacuzzi tubs - we will do our best to place you with them, on a first come, first served basis.

MJ Shaw

MJ Shaw is a fitness, yoga and dance expert who has been teaching and choreographing for over 20 years.  Canfitpro’s 'Instructor of the Year' Finalist 2018, she is the founder of Dynamic Fitness & Retreats, through which she trains clients in her home studio and offers a wide variety of classes in Toronto, as well as yoga/fitness retreats near and abroad.

MJ has taught at studios and events across Canada and the US, presenting at canfitpro, Idea City, featured as a guest instructor on the Dr.OZ Show, Steven & Chris Show (CBC), CP24, CTV Morning, Much Music, MTV, Discovery Network, Savvier Fitness videos, Wellness Warriors and many more. She is also part-time faculty at University of Toronto/Sheridan College "Theatre & Drama Studies" program teaching movement, yoga and dance. MJ is the creator of trademarked dance fit program FITPOP, as well as Canadian Master Trainer for LTS LeBarre and Tabata Bootcamp.

MJ believes the collective energy of people coming together with the shared intention of betterment is inspiring and transformative. She's thrilled to help navigate your retreat journey and will lead you with encouragement, knowledge, positivity and a healthy dose of FUN. MJ is proud wife to Dan and mom to Samuel, both of whom she loves to dance with like nobody’s watching!

Certifications: ACE (PT & Group), AFAA, canfitpro (PT & FIS), Yoga Alliance and many more. Education: HBA in Theatre & MA in Theatre with a focus on Dance from University of Toronto

What to Bring

  • Yoga Mat (there will have a few extras, just in case)
  • Running shoes for fitness based classes
  • Extra beverages, food and treats for your kitchenettes
  • Warm outdoor clothes for hiking and bonfires
  • There are shampoos etc there, but they are basic
  • Bathing suit and towel for outdoor hot-tub

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Retreats are booked on a first-come-first-serve basis, with full payment required. 50% is refundable up to 1 month prior to the retreat, but within the last month the total sum of the retreat is non-refundable.

​If you cannot attend, you are allowed to sell your space to a friend or someone else at your end. The retreats are in high demand, so once we are full (typically by a month prior), we turn away other retreater requests and are at a loss for any cancellations. In most cases, we are happy to issue a 50% credit for lost deposits towards a future retreat.
